Materialism has probably never been more prominent in the world. At the same time, religious radicalism is on the rise and presenting ever-new challenges to our freedoms of thinking, feeling, and action in almost every society on Earth. Along with these trends, there has been an increased sense of needing to protect and defend those who promote inner freedom and real self-development.

Our friend Daniel Hindes has assembled two significant and developing websites for those who are interested in the state of spiritual science in the world and in helping to develop the work of Rudolf Steiner.

First is a website and blog dedicated to dealing with common misunderstandings and allegations promoted in the name of materialism, separation of church and state, and other fears surrounding spirituality. The website—Defending Steiner (www.defendingsteiner.com)—is a great place to begin, both in terms of a basic understanding of the problem and for getting involved in discussions and solutions. Included are pages dedicated to allegations and misconceptions, refutations, book reviews, personalities, a bibliography, and an active blog for sharing thoughts and questions.

The second site—Rudolf Steiner Web (www.rudolfsteinerweb.com)—is a developing site that will eventually provide a complete list of all of Rudolf Steiner’s works in English. This is an invaluable resource for anyone involved in spiritual research and anthroposophy. The site is easy to use and well laid out by category.
